Checking the Oil

The Rotax engine is a rarity among modern engines and it will consume oil so the oil level should be checked regularly.
  1. Drive the Spyder until the operating temperature is up to normal.

  2. Park on a level surface.

  3. Remove the LH Middle Side Panel.

  4. With the engine at normal operating temperature start the engine and run it at an idle for 30 seconds.

  5. Stop the engine.

  6. Unscrew and remove the dipstick.

  7. Wipe off the dipstick and completely screw it back in.

  8. Unscrew and remove the dipstick and read the oil level. The oil level should be near or at the top bar on the dipstick.

  9. Add oil if needed.
