Lasagna
This is the best Lasagna I've had in a long time, Enjoy :)
Noodles
- Cook noodles in boiling water with some salt and oil for 8 minutes. Your looking for Al denti (firm). I like to break my noodles in 1/2 before cooking.
- Remove the noodles and place in a bowl filled with ice water.
Meat Sauce
- Cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until no pink is left in the meat. Stir often to crumble the meat well.
- Add Oregano, Garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste.
- Add Spaghetti Sauce, mix well and set aside.
Cheese Mix
- Beat the egg then add the Ricotta or Cottage Cheese, Parmesan Cheese, salt, pepper and Parsley flakes.
Assemble the Lasagna
- In a 8" x 8" pan put a layer of noodles (cut to fit), meat sauce, cheese mix, Mozzarella cheese then repeat.
- The last layer will be noodles then Mozzarella cheese.
Cooking
- Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Cheese should be bubbly but not burned.
- Let stand for 10 to 15 minutes then serve.
Typical recipe size is 2 to 4 servings.
Notes
The meat sauce can be prepared in advance and kept in the refrigerator until needed.
If you double the recipe you can freeze one for later.
